As a sovereign state, the Republic of Belarus has its own state symbols: the National Flag, the National Coat of Arms and the National Anthem.

Since 1917, the National Flag and the National Coat of Arms have changed several in Belarus. However, all of them had a similar basis, thus the historical continuity of these symbols have been preserved.

Symbols of Vitebsk Region

The Coat of Arms of Vitebsk RegionThe Flag of Vitebsk Region

The Coat of Arms of Vitebsk Region is a French shield, in the red field of which is a silver rider in armor, holding a sword in his right hand above his head, in the left — a shield with a golden six-pointed cross. The coat of arms is crowned by a large golden city crown with five prongs, below it is framed by two golden oak branches, twined and connected with a blue ribbon.

The Flag of Vitebsk Region is a rectangular green cloth with an aspect ratio of 1:2, in the center of the front side of which is placed the image of the coat of arms of Vitebsk region.

Symbols of Polotsk

The Coat of Arms of PolotskThe Flag of Polotsk

The Coat of Arms of Polotsk is a three-masted ship with unfurled sails in a blue field. The water is silver.

The Flag of Polotsk is a rectangular cloth 100x200 cm of three vertical stripes: two blue, located on the edges (the width of each in 1/3 of the length of the cloth), and the central band of white color (width of 1/3 of the length of the cloth). The ratio of the width of the flag to its length is 1/2. In the central part of the cloth there is a 50x60 cm image of the Coat of Arms of Polotsk.
