Born in Polotsk Raion. Graduated from nursing school in 1941. Since 1942 she had been at the front. In the winter of 1943 she was seriously wounded near Kursk. After the war she moved to Polotsk with her family. Actively engaged in social work. In 1957, she was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. The annual award of Z.M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko was established by Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee in 2003.
She was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Gold Star Medal and the Florence Nightingale Medal.
The title of Honorary Citizen of Polotsk was conferred in 1967.
