Manuscript of Yanka Lipovka

The collection of materials of the former teacher of Polotsk Pedagogical College Ivan Semenovich Schastny, who taught Belarusian literature and directed the literary circle, is kept in the museum's funds. In the collection there are the general notebook with memoirs and works of the student of the pedagogical school of Yanka Symonovich Lipovka. It was written by the order of I.S. Schastny, but the purpose to determine today is quite difficult.

The contents of the manuscript can be conditionally divided into two parts – the preface and the collection of works. In the foreword, Yanka Lipovka published an autobiography: he was born on October 14, 1908 in Polotsk region to a peasant family, he was very fond of reading and was drawn to knowledge. For the years of study, "the Belarusian literature read almost everything, except for the one that could not be got". In 1927, J. Lipovka wrote his first poem, for which he was admitted into a literary circle.

The second part of the manuscript includes forty-three poems and two stories written in 1927-1929. This notebook is currently exhibited in the Museum of Local Lore.
