Elzhbeta Oginskaya, Puzyna by marriage (1700–1767) was the daughter of Lithuanian Hetman Grigoriy Antoniy Oginsky; she was the patroness of arts and active patroness of the Jesuit Order. Being an educated woman she was interested in natural sciences and founded the astronomical observatory at Vilna Jesuit Academy. She financed the construction of a magnificent church in honour of St. Tadeusz in the town of Luchay. In a token of gratitude, the residents of the town ordered a portrait of their benefactress from the artist. On the back of the portrait there is an inscription in Polish, which reads as follows:
